Holiday Haul

With the UK weather still not up to scratch and the summer holiday season in full swing, I admittedly got rather excited about the idea of not having to consider sleeves over every strap and tights under every skirt. Sun, sun and more sun – what could possibly be better?

If you follow my insta and have already seen some of my Majorca snaps, no, I am (sadly) not jetting off anywhere anytime soon. Que my confession: I am actually writing this holiday haul post after my week away on the Balearic Island, but I just couldn’t not share all of my lovely holiday purchases. After all, better late than never, right?

(L-R) Sandals – New Look, Aztec Stripe A-line Skirt – New Look, Geometric Tile Print Skirt – New Look

Creating a firm structured shape and a sophisticated silhouette by cinching the waist, I am so favouring the A-line skirt right now. Both from New Look, these skirts have such striking prints, emphasising the boldness of the dramatic A-line structure. They’re also both subtle in colour, allowing the great prints to hold full dominance over the skirt. With a 2″ heel, these sandals are the perfect height for adding elegance to evening wear whilst also holding complete comfort. I love white shoes for summer, they’re always my go-to pairs as they’re just so bright and versatile.

Slip dress – Primark

I’m all for the casual elegance of the slip dress right now and I just had to try this one from Primark. I’m not usually one for wearing a lot of red, but how pretty is this dainty floral print? The subtlety in both the size and colours of the flower motifs result in a much more easy-to-wear slip dress.

Playsuit – New Look Teens

Comfortable, light and such a practical style, playsuits are perfect for summer holidays. Vertical stripes are so complementary for us shorter girls and I love the dynamics between the wider and thinner stripes. The contrast between the black and white monochrome creates intensity whilst the centre bow plays a dainty finish.

Petite Green Split Back Top – Boohoo, Violet Scallop Edge Crop Cami – Boohoo

A mere few days before the holiday, I came to the horrific realisation that I had not a single top to wear with my lovely new A-line skirts. Frantically, I went on the hunt for a couple of crop tops of a boxy fit which would sit just on the waistline, or slightly above, just where the skirt began to flare outwards, creating that overall cinched waist appearance. Boohoo came greatly to the rescue with these cute scalloped hem tops. The detail of the split back adds extra elegance whilst the pale colours harmonise with those in the skirt. You can see which skirt I paired with the purple scallop hem cami in my latest outfit post here.

(L-R) Floral A-line skirt – Pretty Little Thing, Fine Knit Lace Trim Cami – New Look, White Crop Cami – Boohoo, Shorts – Primark

A light weight fabric, this Pretty Little Thing A-line skirt has a much softer shape as it falls a lot more subtly from the waist. The combination of the pale pink with the white creates such a gentle tone whilst the elaborate detail of the prominently outlined flowers work greatly at a large volume. Admittedly, knitwear isn’t something I wear a lot of in the warmer climates, but I love the contrast between the definitive knit and the daintiness of the fine lace. Patterned shorts are great for wearing during the day time on holiday and Primark always have some great prints. I love the use of the scale of tones between the white, grey and black, highlighting the intricacy of the geometric print.

Sandals – Primark, Bikini – New Look (Bottoms, Top)

Lets face it: finding the perfect bikini is probably one of the most important parts of holiday shopping. The palm tree print is so elaborately detailed and the colours softly harmonise amongst one another, emphasising such a dreamy scene. These Primark sandals were perfect for wearing on the beach. The pale pink is subtle making them easy to wear with just about anything whilst the fit is so comfortable. The swirl of undulating lines are smooth and flowing, resulting in the perfect sandal.
