New Look Haul

Although I am trying to be good this month, who can resist a pop to New Look after strolling past it every day on the way college? Not me, that’s for sure!

 I’m completely loving floral print for SS14 and I do enjoy a patterned tube skirt, so this is one I could not resist trying on! I love the spring pinks, blues and whites against the sophistication of the black background and how an overall pattern is created through the repetition of a small area of distributed flowers. I’ve been styling this skirt with my vans, a pink embellished jumper, and of course a collared top underneath. In the summer, I think that this will look perfect with a plain, coloured cami top.

Although I do love this purchase, I decided to go back and change it for a size bigger as the fitting is quite small.

Pink Blazer (Generation 915)

I have to say, I’m not usually one for sporting a blazer, but being on the reduced to clear rack, I just had to at least try it on, and surprisingly, I loved it! I think that it’ll be perfect for later on in the spring when it gets that little bit warmer, teamed with a pair of jeans and a patterned tee! The sleeves are a summery 3/4 length, as well as the general length of the blazer being longer than expected. I love the brightness of the colour, practically screaming summer, however, the sizing is a little misleading. Normally, I would buy aged 14-15 tops in the Generation 915 section, but this one fits perfectly at age 10-11!

Gingham is pretty much everywhere this season and, being a huge monochrome fan, I do love it. I’m also always on the lookout for little crop tops like these as I find them perfect for pairing with skater skirts, skorts and high wasted jeans, and I think that this one will add an edgy urban twist to the outfit. It’s also great for wearing with a plain, yet chunky statement necklace. I did also try on the matching skirt in the Generation 915 section, but was put off by the fact that it was actually pretty see through!

A-Line Tartan Skirt (Generation 915)

Urban returns to the sixties with this tartan A-line skirt and I love it! I like the cute appearance of the A-line style with the artificial zip pockets and how the tartan twist adds a sophisticated style to this. There’s a hidden zip down the back of it, giving it a nice and secure structure. I tend to team this with a burgundy jumper (accompanied by a collar of course) and my cutout boots.
