All-In-One Monochrome Stripes

Easy to style, comfortable and practical with no worries of any sudden gusts of wind which accompany those dress and skirt days, it has to be said that playsuits are my absolute summer essential. The current vertical stripe trend is one I’m particularly enjoying, completely working in my petite framed favour by illusions of lengthened height, so when I stumbled across this New Look romper, I just had to give it a try.

A simple shape with a cinched in waist, yet elasticated, the style is flattering with a pleasant feel. The black ‘n’ white monochrome scale creates a dramatic juxtaposition, working alongside the repetitive dynamic of the variation between the widths of the stripes. I chose to style this with a pastel pink necklace, adding a tiny hint of colour that was subtle enough to not overpower the monochrome focus of the playsuit. The material is light and rather sheer, making it perfectly cool to wear in the warmer climates. Speaking of which, how lovely is this weather right now? I took these photos back on holiday, with a strong doubt the British summer would encourage me to wear this any time soon. But how wrong was I?! I hope everyone is enjoying the sudden heatwave sun!
